Irish Tenor Ronan Tynan Dazzles Audience
Irish singing sensation Ronan Tynan performed at the Palace Theater in Waterbury on Saturday, June 25 with his longtime pianist William Lewis. To the thrill of the audience, he belted out classic favorites like "Danny Boy" and "Over the Rainbow." He also got the audience involved in a resounding encore of "God Bless America."
Proceeds from the concert will support the Greater Waterbury Catholic Schools and
the Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools (FACS). Concertgoers were overjoyed that the money was going to such a great cause.
One attendee, Casey Morley of Waterbury said she loved attending Catholic school as a youngster, and is thrilled that the concert will benefit Catholic school education. "Students learn about their faith, respect, and discipline, which they need to be successful in life." Linda Thomas, echoed her sentiments by saying, "Any student who is fortunate enough to go to a Catholic school will receive a special and unique education."
Archbishop Henry J. Mansell said the Archdiocese of Hartford would match the proceeds from the concert.
